I fell…….Oh my arm! Snap went my arm it was broken. All started in September 4 1997. One day in the afternoon I got out the school, the college is “chisto Rey”. I was in second grade and had five ages old. I went to play in the playground. In the playground, watching us was Nuria, she is the manager of the playground. I went to playscape called spider. It was bright blue structure, with red metal pipes going around the cylinder with a dark yellow pole in the middle. Nuria said be careful children, this game is dangerous. I didn’t pay attention and I decided to climb the spider. The object of the game is to climb to the top of the structure and slide down by grabbing hold of the pole. I remember that Ricardo the chef of the college was picking up cooking instruments. He saw the playground by window from the kitchen.
I was playing on spider and swinging in this game tube. I could see all the people, since I was on top of the structure. I jumped from spider to a tarp. But I could not grab the tarp; I fell hard and broke my arm. As I was on the floor, I got back up. I felt weird, that when I noticed my arm was broken. My arm looked like a water hose, I stared to move my arm, noticed it was flimsy. Nuria stared cry and call an Altita, she is the owner of day care. Altita came down, saw me going crazy since my arm was broken. She stared to call my mother to ask her what she wanted to do, take me to the hospital or the office. Ricardo put me tourniquet to straighten my arm. My mother tells Albita take me to the hospital Auxilio Mutuo. Altita tells Ricardo to take me to hospital. Ricardo and I were in the car, I put on my seatbelt and turned on the car. Although everyone was nervous I was quite calm. Ricardo mounted me on the carriage, drove to the hospital rather fast, which is so quick to pass a traffic light. When we arrived at the hospital and my parents were in there waiting for me. In the hospital we had to wait in the waiting room until the orthopedist came to say what they were going to do with me. Both the technician and I took some x-rays; my arm was broken in three pieces. After all that waiting finally arrived the orthopedist. The doctor told my parents I had to have surgery and my parents agreed.
The only thing I remember after that is that a nurse put something in the serum and I was taking down a long corridor. Then I fell asleep like a baby. I woke up the next day with a cast on my arm and lying in a hospital bed.
I talked to my mother and she was not angry with me. Knowing that my parents were not angry with me, took a load off. After being in the hospital two days the doctor told my parents that I could go home. This fall I face challenges because I was three months with a cast and I had to bathe with a bag over my arm. From this fall I learned that I'm not Superman or Spiderman and I’m not immortal.
